About Grounding Myself
Learning to ground myself in truth instead of emotions, since 2021
Why am I writing?
Not because I'm wiser than anyone else.
I'm writing because i'm a reflector. After I have a conversation, listen to something or read a book I need time to think about it, reflect on it, turn it over in my mind. But I've found that if I write it out, then I have to finalise my thoughts and give it a conclusion.
My hope is that maybe my thoughts will be of some use to whoever stumbles onto here.
Why do I pick these topics?
I write about what I care about the most.
My faith is the most fundamental part of me, it's what my identity is founded on. I might not reference it explicitly in what I write but I see everything through the lens of my hope in Jesus Christ.
Relationships are an essential part of life, regardless of who it's with. We thrive when we have better relationships, so it's always worth trying to improve them.
Mental health is as important as physical health - it's 2022 and we don't talk about this enough still. Having spent 7 years with an diagnosed mental health condition, I want to make it a part of normal conversation and help to take anyway this strange shame culture around it.
Minimalism is something I've become interested in the last couple of years and I'm enjoying figuring out what it means for my life.
Reading because it's one of the best things anyone can do. So many of the world's problems would be resolved if people just read more.
